FAARC! 2026

Last Saturday delivered pretty much perfect conditions for a bit of FAARCing, with a beautiful day bringing out at least 50 people keen to get amongst the ridges.

There were plenty of ways to go about it, with some interesting—and occasionally questionable—route choices on display. Some people clearly had a plan. Others appeared to be making it up as they went along.

Walker Road proved to be steeper than should really be possible, while Rocky Ridge, the Exfoliator, lived up to its name

Top female FAARCer was Dani Nicolson, who put in a great effort to notch up 7 ridges, equal to last year’s top overall score! Top overall FAARCer was Isaac Tripp, who managed an impressive 8 ridges to set a new FAARCing record. His father Steve, also managed 8, but took more than an hour longer. Youth, it seems, has its advantages for productive FAARCing.

It was a great Finish At ARC for the after-party, where the Valley Bluegrass Band provided the soundtrack while FAARCers swapped stories, compared route choices and presumably tried to remember exactly what happened on Rocky Ridge.

A huge thanks to ARC Brewery for the prizes, the support, and for providing such a great venue to finish the day. And thanks to everyone who came along and embraced the spirit of FAARC.

Ridges were climbed. Skin was exfoliated. FAARCing was done.

Same time next year? Probably.
